Stratos Government Services Unveils Washington
--New office features Technology Demonstration Center for testing new satellite communications applications--
Washington, DC, May 9, 2007 - Stratos Government Services Inc. (SGSI), a global integrator of commercial satellite solutions for the U.S. Dept. of Defense, federal and state government agencies, today announced it will celebrate the opening of its new Washington, DC headquarters with an Open House event on Thursday May 24 from 3-6 p.m.
Senior SGSI and Stratos officials will be on hand to welcome customers, partners and other visitors to the event at 1400 Eye Street NW, Ste. 200.
SGSI, founded last year as a subsidiary of Stratos Global Corp., will use the event to showcase its new Technology Demonstration Center that allows customers to conveniently test the latest satellite communications applications. The event will also familiarize government buyers and integrators with SGSI's "one stop" turnkey solutions, which include satellite airtime, hardware, installation, network engineering and management, customer support and value-added services.
Government officials and members of the general public are welcome to attend the Open House. Those planning to attend are asked to register at www.stratosgsi.com/openhouse or contact Melodie Garner at 202-216-8652 or melodie.garner@stratosgsi.com.
Journalists are encouraged to attend the Open House and can contact Sue Keith at 703-980-9802, sue.keith@stratosglobal.com for background or to schedule an interview with SGSI officials.
SGSI President Bob Roe is a leading expert on government applications with 30 years of experience in the commercial and government satellite sectors, including 22 years in the U.S. Navy where he worked in the communications fields for maritime, land mobile, aviation and intelligence commands. Roe was recently named chairman of the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA).
"As government demand for satellite communications system grows, federal and state agencies are seeking a sole-source integrator with solutions that are technology agnostic. SGSI provides the capabilities and focus these agencies require," Roe said.
He added, "Initial market response to SGSI has been excellent, demonstrating the preference for an experienced company that provides innovative services, working with strategic, value-added partners and the most advanced satellite communications technology."
For more than 20 years, Stratos has provided reliable, cost-effective satellite communications solutions to numerous U.S. military and civil agencies, including the Dept. of Defense, Military Sealift Command, Army National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, White House Communications Agency and the U.S. State Department.
