Stratos Recognized as Worlds Top BGAN Distributor of 2007
Bethesda, Maryland (December 10, 2007) - Stratos Global Corp. (TSX: SGB), the leading global provider of advanced mobile and fixed-site remote communications solutions, today announced it has been recognized by Inmarsat as the world's top BGAN distributor of 2007. At an Inmarsat awards ceremony in Prague on October 30th, Stratos received the award for the "Best Performing BGAN Distribution Partner". The award recognizes Stratos as the Inmarsat distribution partner with the strongest BGAN revenue growth for 2007.
At the ceremony, Stratos also received Inmarsat's 2007 award for "Best Sales Campaign in a New Sector or Geography" for its efforts, with its channel partner JDC, to successfully grow BGAN sales in the Japanese market.
Stratos is one of the world's largest distributors of Inmarsat's BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network), a mobile satellite service that uses lightweight terminals to provide simultaneous, high-speed data (up to 492 kbps) and voice connectivity anywhere in the world.
