Stratos provides global mobile satellite services to a diverse set of vertical markets, including enterprise, maritime, aeronautical, government, military, energy, media and recreational users. It offers a wide range of products and services of several of the industry’s leading satellite operators, including Inmarsat and Iridium.
The Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation of the Year is presented annually to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within their industry.
"Few MSS service providers can claim the breadth of expertise, global coverage, and broad product line offered by Stratos," notes Frost & Sullivan Industry Manager Tim Street. "MSS-based revenue increased by 11 percent to $119.8 million in the second quarter of 2007, as compared to the second quarter of 2006, mainly due to the provision of highly innovative value-added services."
Some of the most notable value-added services include: StratosTaB™ (Traffic & Billing Explorer), which allows customers to easily track their usage and costs for better cost control or re-billing purposes; Stratos Dashboard™ for BGAN, FleetBroadband, SwiftBroadband and Inmarsat Satellite Phone Services, which allows customers to manage and provision their SIM cards online as well as track usage in near real-time to minimize their financial risk; and, Stratos Trench™ for BGAN, FleetBroadband, and SwiftBroadband, which provides the online option to remotely establish and configure a tailored firewall.
Other exceptional offerings from Stratos include: AmosConnect™, which integrates e-mail, fax, telex, and GSM text into a single messaging system for maritime customers; AmosConnect™ eNOA/D, which is a software package enabling vessels to easily comply with U.S. Coast Guard requirements regarding Electronic Notices of Arrival and Departure (eNOA/D); and, StratosConsole™ which allows oil and gas customers to track and monitor the usage and performance of all of their remote sites in near real-time..
These services distinguish Stratos from other MSS service providers. Stratos also continues to invest in the development of value-added services to benefit customers. For instance, Stratos Dashboard for Iridium was introduced to Stratos’ distribution network in late 2007, and will be made widely available to customers early this year, with continued enhancements expected to be introduced in the first quarter.
"The vast resources made available through strong partnerships with Iridium and Inmarsat -- along with their distribution channels and industry expertise -- give Stratos the immense potential to continue to be an active leader in the double-digit growth currently being experienced in the MSS industry," states Street. "In addition, the newly formed Stratos Government Services Inc. (SGSI), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stratos Global Corp., will allow it to more effectively target the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), federal and state agencies -- all of which are expected to be strong buyers of MSS services over the long-term."
