Through Globalstar’s Low-Earth-Orbiting (LEO) satellites and its digital satellite communications system, Stratos offers cost-effective and reliable telephony and telecommunications services such as digitally crisp voice communication, short message service (SMS) and voicemail service (VMS). To manage airtime more easily, Stratos now offers prepaid calling on Globalstar phones.
Globalstar’s voice clarity is exceptional and there is very little delay in satellite voice transmission. The Globalstar service from Stratos is cost effective and extremely reliable. The Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) patented technology, inherent in the system, resists interference and provides improved voice quality, increased call capacity and enables secure communications.
Stratos’ Globalstar system is completely integrated with existing fixed and cellular telephone networks. This gives you the flexibility to switch to a conventional cellular telephony mode when you’re in local or cellular range, or to the Globalstar satellite mode when you’re outside of local or cellular areas.

Currently, Globalstar coverage includes 100 countries across the globe. Future expansion will cover the Middle East, parts of eastern Africa, China and Hong Kong.

GSP-2900 Fixed Phone
Open a satellite office anywhere. Whether you’re on a boat, ship, offshore oil rig, mobile command vehicle, or recreational vehicle, the Globalstar Fixed Unit can be customized for your application. The Globalstar Fixed Phone can be configured to provide a single line of service to as many as five standard telephone jacks, giving you convenient custom installation options. Because the GSP-2900 Phone generates a standard dial-tone, you can use any off-the-shelf FCC approved cordless phone, standard phone, speakerphone, answering machine, connect to a PBX system, or use the high-quality included desktop speakerphone. The antenna and fixed phone unit are mounted in a convenient outdoor location with a clear view of the sky for satellite calls.
